KYC & Identity
How TRUSTTICA's Know Your Customer (KYC) process works and what the Identity Lock means.
What is KYC?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is the process by which TRUSTTICA verifies who you are using a government-issued identity document. It is required before you can send or receive Stage 1 identity verification requests. Without KYC approval, your account exists but your identity cannot be asserted to others.
The KYC Process
- 1Create your TRUSTTICA account and verify your phone number via OTP.
- 2Navigate to the KYC Center from your dashboard.
- 3Upload a clear, unobstructed photo of a government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's licence).
- 4Submit. TRUSTTICA's verification team will review your submission.
- 5Once approved, your identity is locked to your account and a KYC record is created.
- 6You will receive a notification confirming KYC approval.
What Is the Identity Lock?
Once KYC is approved, your identity is cryptographically bound to your TRUSTTICA account. This is referred to as the Identity Lock. It means:
- Your verified identity cannot be transferred to another account.
- No one can impersonate your account without access to your registered phone number.
- All Stage 1 verification requests you receive are matched against your locked identity record.
- Changes to your identity require full re-verification and will temporarily lift the lock.
Identity verified and locked. You can send and receive verification requests.
Your ID has been submitted and is being reviewed. Verification is paused until approved.
Your current ID has expired or a discrepancy was detected. Re-verification is required.
Your identity record has passed its validity period. A re-submission is needed.
Accepted ID Types
- Passport (international)
- National Identity Card
- Driver's Licence (government-issued)
- Residence Permit with photo
Requesting an Update
If your legal name has changed (e.g. due to marriage or court order), your document has expired, or a discrepancy is detected, you can request an identity update from the KYC Center. You will remain verified during the review period. Your identity lock is only lifted if a discrepancy is confirmed.
